Just Breathe

Give yourself unstructured rest. Walk the dog, take a bath, daydream, listen to music and don’t feel bad about giving yourself this peaceful break.

Be Kind to yourself. Embrace your imperfections both your own and other peoples. Try not to waste thoughts on trying to live up to unrealistic expectations.

See self care inclusive of any activities. As long as your favourite activities are nurturing, they are doing you good. Catching on on a Netflix series, going for a ride, baking, doing your favourite gym class are all great examples.

Find your why. Focus on the reason you've chosen to practise self care rather than telling yourself you have to do it. If you don’t enjoy a particular practise then try a few alternatives.

Allow you self to play. There is a saying that you don’t stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing. Laughter and joy are vital to wellbeing, so dance to your favourite music in the kitchen, sing out loud in your car, laugh yourself silly watching a comedy show.

If in doubt just breathe. It takes seconds to perform a simple breathing meditation. You can do it any time any where and don’t need any fancy equipment. Just follow your breath.
